Position Title: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: VP of Quality Systems and Regulatory Compliance

Summary:
This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining Taylor Farms Pacific’s Quality Systems to ensure
compliance with regulatory, federal, and state laws. FSQA Manager will oversee the implementation of processes
and maintenance of quality standards to meet customer’s specifications and TF food safety and operational
standards. Must be able to work effectively as a team player, possess strong communication skills, and interact
across departmental boundaries, minimizing conflict, and maximizing interdepartmental goodwill.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead all aspects of the Quality Systems Management Program; HACCP, PCHF- Preventative Controls, Process
Controls, Corporate Policy implementation, and training; first, First, Second, Third party and Regulatory audits and
associated CAR. - Conduct risk-based hazard analysis for raw materials and monitor supplier performance to include food safety
plan and audit review. - Oversee plant compliance and interactions with SQF Certification body and maintain applicable document
registries as required by SQF. - Reassess SQF plans whenever there is a change to program, processes, procedures, ingredients, equipment, etc.
- Ensure that established preventative and process control procedures and all corporate issued Quality Assurance
Policies are followed throughout the plant. - Provide training on SPC and process control, product evaluation, HACCP, Food Safety Plan Preventative Controls,
Allergens, GMPs, security, sanitation, and other quality related SOPs and procedures. - Maintain all pertinent document-controlled QA procedures.
- Maintain daily programs and records to include WIP and finished product quality scoring, key quality indicators,
shelf life, and microbiological testing, where applicable. - Actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
- Oversee the Company Environmental Monitoring Program at the plant interacting with the QA Supervisors and
Sanitation Manager/Supervisor on a routine basis regarding pre-op activities and environmental swabbing result
trends. - Understand the impact of packaging material and process deviation on product quality and overall shelf life of
products. - Understand the impact of raw produce quality, WIP life, and process deviation on product quality and overall
shelf life of products. - Work in collaboration with Production to conduct root cause analysis on customer complaints related to product
quality breakdown. - Participate in meetings, pilots and other trainings to gain knowledge and familiarity to TF products.
- Provide weekly updates to Ops, QA, CM, Sales, and Product Development/Culinary teams on product quality
scores, opportunities for improvements and changes on the line to streamline quality.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
- 2-4 years of experience in High-Volume Food Manufacturing Facility.
- Passionate about food.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Must have a “can-do” attitude to work in a hectic environment that is evolving and growing.
- Understand and adhere to TF safety, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; able to learn new programs.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and Food Labeling (FDA and USDA).
- Work in a refrigerated environment.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, wipe, reach, bend, and safely lift to 35 lbs.
- Exposure to different food allergens.
- Flexibility to work in AM and PM shifts and sometimes weekends and overtime.
- Experience in packaging, Fresh-Cut, Deli products, and MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) is a plus.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in food science. Master’s degree a plus
- Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in Quality Assurance, Food Manufacturing, or other technical
environments. - Strong leadership, technical, communication, and organizational skills are required, along with attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in Organic Certification, FSMA, Kosher, GMP, CFR's, and other state and federal regulatory
requirements. - Advanced knowledge of quality systems, procedures, and policies. Handle multiple assignments, develop work
plans, and prioritize. - Versed in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint), scientific method, continuous improvement methodologies,
statistical process control, Kaizen, and other world-class manufacturing process improvement programs. - Food safety and USDA regulatory experience/knowledge preferred.
- Should be HACCP, PCQI, and SQF certified and proficient in handling audits.
- Successful candidates must possess a positive focus on solutions with an emphasis on preventative proactive
measures and team-building. - Very solid communication skills (Bilingual preferred—English + Spanish)
