Reports to: Department Manager

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Supervisor will direct and coordinate activities concerned with the production and
inventory management of the company products by performing the following duties personally
or through subordinate crew leaders. This individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each
essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill,

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Influence and maintain safe work environment.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal
    and external needs.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinates flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines
    according to work orders.
  • Responsible for inspecting inventory after shift to ensure the FIFO process is taking place.
  • In charge of compiling shift data, including transaction accuracy, downtime reasons, etc., and
    correcting issues immediately.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement and suggest ways of improvement to top
    management of the organization.
  • Maintain inventory and storage area following allergen stacking and organize warehousing
    areas to promote safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Communicate job expectations/requirements and coach employees: GMP’s, PPE’s, SOP’s
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
  • Interact with employees to answer questions or solve problems.
  • Interact cross-departmentally to ensure customer deadlines are met and services are
    adequately provided.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment
    performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop,
    department, or work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Systems Auditors to ensure effective execution of all sanitation and Food Safety programs and their documentation.
  • Perform other reasonable job-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team player, with the ability to interact across departmental boundaries, minimizing conflict and maximizing good will across all company
    departments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Job experience: minimum of 5 years of management experience or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to develop procedures, job descriptions, and other necessary documents, and keep
    them current.
  • Be familiar with food-related requirements such as: GMP’s, HACCP, SSOP’s, OSHA, and USDA.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and flexible schedules as needed.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and have a general
    competency in computer operation.
  • Be familiar with Quick Trans, WMS, AX, SSRS

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ASPECTS:

  • Stand and walk for a long period of time.
  • Work (bend down) under/around equipment.
  • Ability to use a ladder to reach high areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use all four senses, sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
  • Work at a refrigerated room temperature.
  • Work in a wet environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment at all times.
